Where the data actually goes: ESGenome and Gprnt

ESGenome: the listed-company disclosure portal

Launched 12 September 2022 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and SGX Group, under MAS's Project Greenprint programme for environmental, social and governance (ESG) data.

The idea is simple and genuinely useful: a company enters its ESG data once, against a common set of metrics, and the portal maps that data to multiple international reporting frameworks. Investors then retrieve it in a consistent, machine-readable form instead of hunting through PDF reports.

The baseline is 27 core ESG metrics defined by SGX. The portal was originally built as a software service by World Wide Generation.

Gprnt: the national data utility

Gprnt (pronounced "greenprint") launched on 16 November 2023. MAS describes it as the culmination of Project Greenprint, consolidating that programme's four separate utilities - a disclosure portal, a data registry, a solutions marketplace and a data orchestration layer - into one platform.

It is run by Greenprint Technologies Pte Ltd, a public-private entity whose strategic partners include HSBC, KPMG in Singapore, MAS, Microsoft and MUFG Bank. It has raised seed funding from Ant International and MUFG Bank. The platform's capabilities were built in consultation with ACRA, Enterprise Singapore and IMDA.

Its most practical feature for smaller companies: with the company's consent, Gprnt retrieves electricity data from the Energy Market Authority (EMA) and water data from PUB and converts it automatically into Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions figures. That removes the single most common blocker for a small business - nobody on staff knows how to turn a utility bill into a carbon number.

(Reporting on Gprnt is widely described as free to basic users. That was not confirmed against a primary source during research, so check current terms on the Gprnt site before relying on it.)

The July 2026 merger of the two

On 1 July 2026, at the SGX Group-Gprnt Climate Action Forum, Gprnt and SGX Group announced a partnership to upgrade ESGenome. The upgrade targets:

• ISSB-based climate-related disclosures
• Scope 3 emissions reporting
• Corporate transition planning

The operationally important part: ESGenome has been wholly migrated onto the Gprnt platform, and Scope 1 and Scope 2 calculations can now be automated using trusted government data.

Green 100

Gprnt is also the reporting rail behind the Green 100 movement, launched on 21 May 2026 by the Council for a Competitive Climate Transition (C3T), which is co-chaired by the National Climate Change Secretariat and the Singapore Business Federation.

Under Green 100, large "queen bee" companies each invite at least 100 of their SME suppliers and partners to undertake basic environmental reporting aligned with TR 149:2026, a Singapore technical reference. SMEs that complete the Essential level receive a digital Green 100 Badge and join the Green 100 Network, which circulates alerts on green procurement tenders and sustainable financing opportunities.

This matters because it is how climate reporting reaches companies that are far too small to be caught by any listing rule: their customers ask them.

What to do with this

• Listed company: ESGenome is your structured disclosure channel alongside your published report. Expect it to keep moving towards ISSB-shaped data fields.
• SME: Gprnt is the cheapest credible way to produce a first Scope 1 and Scope 2 figure, and a Green 100 invitation from a large customer is a strong signal to start.
• Investor or analyst: ESGenome is where comparable Singapore ESG data lives in structured form.
